Quantum Measurements Showcases Innovation as Palladium Sponsor at SPE Multiphase Metering Workshop 2026

The measurements that matter most are the ones taken in the most difficult conditions. That has always been the operating philosophy at Quantum Measurements and it is exactly why we are proud to be attending the Society of Petroleum Engineers Workshop: Multiphase Metering – Opportunities and Solutions, taking place May 7– 8, 2026 in San Antonio as a Palladium Sponsor.

This is not a conference where theory takes centre stage. The SPE Multiphase Metering Workshop brings together engineers, operators, and technology companies who are actively working to solve one of the industry’s most persistent measurement challenges accurately quantifying oil, water, and gas flow rates simultaneously, in real time, under conditions that conventional test separators were never designed to handle.

Why This Workshop Matters

Multiphase flow measurement has moved from a nice-to-have capability to an operational necessity. As unconventional wells become more complex, as flowback conditions become more transient, and as operators demand tighter production allocation and reservoir management, the accuracy and reliability of multiphase flow meters have become directly tied to recovery performance. The industry needs better data. It needs it faster. And it needs it without the footprint, personnel exposure, and production interruption that traditional measurement methods require.

The conversation happening in San Antonio is the right conversation at the right time.

Our Technical Contribution

Quantum Measurements will be contributing to the workshop through two presentations, each grounded in real field data from active deployments.

Asher Imam will present a technical paper titled “Evaluating MPFM Performance for High GVF Flowback Application in Marcellus Basin.” High gas volume fraction conditions represent one of the most demanding measurement environments in unconventional operations and one of the most consequential. When GVF is high and conditions are transient, inaccurate measurement leads directly to poor choke management, suboptimal drawdown, and ultimately deferred production. This paper presents real-world performance data from QFLOW deployments in the Marcellus Basin, examining how multiphase flow meters perform under these conditions and what that means for operators seeking reliable measurement from day one of flowback.

The second contribution is a poster presentation: “Enhancing Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) for Permian Basin QINSIGHT: Turning Data into Decisions.” This work demonstrates how Quantum Measurements’ QINSIGHT platform translates real-time production data into actionable analytics helping Permian Basin operators move from reactive monitoring to proactive production optimization. The Permian remains North America’s most prolific basin, and the opportunity to enhance EUR through better measurement and smarter analytics is significant.

What We Are Taking to San Antonio

Beyond the presentations, Quantum Measurements is bringing something more important field-proven results. Every data point in these presentations comes from real wells, real operators, and real flowback conditions. Not simulations. Not controlled environments.
